Overview
The Good Samaritan Society, a Lutheran Social Service Organization, is one of the largest voluntary, not-for-profit long-term care providers in Canada. Within its 55-year history of creating specially designed and caring environments for the elderly and disabled, The Good Samaritan Society has played a key role in the development of new and innovative programs, ones that are becoming industry standards throughout Canada.
In 1994, The Good Samaritan Society piloted the first assisted living facility in Canada with the development of Wedman House and Wedman Village. Since 1994 the assisted living industry has grown and evolved across the country. Currently, The Good Samaritan Society serves over 4400 clients throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
Assisted Living Above the 49th Parallel hosted by The Good Samaritan Society will be held in Banff, Alberta from Oct 8-10 2008. This conference will provide a cross country "pulse check" on assisted living in Canada, research and evaluation, an expert panel offering viewpoints on the various models of care, wellness programs for assisted living residents and much more.
At this conference attendees will;
